AcuHolistics is a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic located in Corrimal, Wollongong, providing a variety of services such as acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, and Chinese herbal medicine.
Traditional Chinese medicine views an individuals health in a holistic manner focusing as much on the prevention of illness along with the treatment of it, as good health relies on harmony and balance from within. It provides relief from a wide range of acute and chronic health disorders by allowing energy (Qi) to flow freely throughout the body in order for balance to be found.
The term balance refers to the relative factors of Yin and Yang, the opposing forces of the universe. Yin and Yang find their expression in various subsidary anatagonists such as Cold versus Heat, Dampness versus Dryness, reflecting the notion that one side cannot live without the other. In an ideal state, Yin and Yang in all their forms are perfectly balanced in every part of the body, however, external or internal factors can upset this balance, which then leads to disease. Chinese medical diagnosis and treatment involves identifying the factors that are out of balance and attempts to restore harmony between them.
