PRACTITIONER
Dr. Helena (TCM) has an extensive medical background in diagnosing, treating and caring for patients in both Western and Chinese medical practices that spans more than 30 years. She studied her first Degree in Medicine and became a Doctor in Guangzhou China, practicing for many years before eventually deciding to move to Australia.
In Australia, she went on to supplement her study and care in Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) completing her second Degree, Bachelor of Nursing, at Wollongong University. Helena has spent many years in health care in the Wollongong area, including more than 10 years in the ICU department at Wollongong Hospital. Helena then decided to pursue her dream of studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. She recognized that western medicine dealt primarily with treatment once patients had fallen ill, lacking awareness of how crucial preventative measures are in promoting good health. This encouraging her to finish her degree and expand her knowledge on the topic.
Helena completed her third Degree with Distinction level results and has been a TCM practitioner for years. Helena discovered under work in various clinics and her own research that there is a cause and effect relationship between sickness and health. Illness is not just about the treatment of symptoms once they appear, but rather identifying the root cause of the problem and rectifying the issue to achieve lasting results. This relates back to the holistic understanding of balance within the body, looking carefully for signs of health and dysfunction, paying particular attention not only to the presenting signs and symptoms, but also to the underlying problems that tend to be overlooked.
